SABCA to roll out its 1300th F-16.

On July 13th, 2016, the 1300th F16  rolled out from the flight line of SABCA Charleroi, Belgium.

The Flight Line Crew of SABCA has brought its 1300th F-16 back to fly. Business as usual for these skilled experts who are accustomated to perform such operations up to 50 times a year.

The delivery of this 1300th aircraft  is another milestone in a long success story : SABCA, Société Anonyme Belge de Constructions Aéronautiques, started its common history with the F-16 more than 37 years ago, with the assembly and in-flight delivery of new F-16 A/C, on behalf of three different end-users.

Since then, exactly 1300 F-16 A/C rolled out of the Charleroi flight line after having been either assembled, upgraded, inspected, repaired or re-painted. SABCA provides Maintenance, Repair or Overhaul of all kinds and sizes (from the maintenance of a couple of equipments to the overhaul of a complete fleet of jet fighters) to 11 F-16 operators worldwide, and not less than four different Air Forces (Belgium, USA, The Netherlands, Denmark) currently outsource the maintenance of complete F-16 aircraft to SABCA.

.

With strong shareholders (Dassault Group and GKN Aerospace/Fokker) and soon celebrating its first century in aerospace, SABCA 1200 highly motivated employees master all skills from early phases of “Build-to-Print” and “Build-to-spec” programs to full customer support.

SABCA is active in three markets: Civil Aviation, Space and Defense.

In Civil Aviation, competencies in design and manufacturing of complex metal and composite Aerostructures and advanced High-Lift mechanisms enabled SABCA to win numerous Airbus, Dassault Aviation and Gulfstream work packages as a tier-1 and tier-2 partner.

In Space, SABCA is single source for design and manufacturing of all Ariane 5 rocket engine Actuators, VEGA launcher and Ariane 6 complete Thrust Vector Control (TVC) system.

In Defense, SABCA offers high-end expertise in maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as modernization of military platforms and maintains most of the fleet of the Belgian armed forces. It also works with other European countries, as well as the US Air Force (USAFE), on the F-16.
